Mr. Potts is responsible for sourcing deal flow, transaction support, asset integration, and ongoing asset management for Tailwater E&P’s mineral, royalty, and non-operated portfolio.

Prior to joining Tailwater E&P in 2026, Mr. Potts served in both independent and in-house land roles with SM Energy, Concho Resources, ConocoPhillips, and Black Mountain Oil and Gas. He has extensive experience in transactions and asset development across multiple basins and asset types. Mr. Potts earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Commerce from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Oklahoma. He maintains certification as a Certified Professional Landman through AAPL.
