DALLAS, October 21, 2014
Tailwater Capital LLC (“Tailwater”), a Dallas-based growth oriented energy private equity firm, announced today that Joel Fry has joined the firm as a Principal. Mr. Fry brings over 11 years of private equity and investment banking experience, most recently as a Principal for Crimson Investment, a private equity firm providing buyout and growth capital financing to middle market companies.
Edward Herring, Managing Partner of Tailwater Capital, said: “I first met Joel seven years when he joined our investment team in Dallas. We’re thrilled to be bringing Joel back down to Texas where he’s spent the majority of his career. His extensive experience in private equity will enhance our deal execution and business development capabilities. Furthermore, Joel has established relationships with senior executives at our existing portfolio companies; we feel he’ll be able to immediately collaborate with management to develop business strategy.”
While at Crimson Investment, Mr. Fry’s responsibilities ranged from deal origination and structuring to due diligence, execution and investment monitoring. Mr. Fry started his career in private equity working directly with both Edward Herring and Jason Downie at HM Capital. Mr. Fry has also held various positions within Citigroup’s energy investment bank and Harrison Lovegrove & Co., an M&A advisory focused on upstream oil and gas mandates.
